Aimed at creating a community of people experiencing isolation in the alien environment of Toronto, Nostalgia is a postcard zine wherein a number of immigrants, along with a few Canadians, were asked to describe how much at home they felt in Toronto, and how the social conditions in Toronto differ from their hometown. The second part of the zine involved the participants describing something in Toronto that reminded them of their hometown—either because conditions were drastically different or co-incidentally similar in both places—before I went around the city to photograph these places, objects, or atmospheres. The work—an ever expanding one—aims at forming a community amongst isolated people by targeting on their feeling of non-community.
